Awareness camp cum Nutritional Food Distribution during Pandemic
The Covid-19 global pandemic affected the whole world badly and people experienced worst kinds of scarcity and mental stress when the lockdown extended for months and people had to stay home jobless and income-less the situation became more pathetic. Our Pakur district also suffered through this pandemic badly and many families lost their members due to covid. People died due to starvation but it was all counted as the death by Covid. Many families had to live without meal day after day. Looking at the situation FACE Pakur in collaboration with Nirantar trust, Delhi facilitated the social welfare works of distributing raw food materials and many food items like biscuits, oils, grams, pulses, soybeans etc to 300 poor needy and helpless families across 16 different panchayats and 5 urban ward of Pakur named village Jhikarhati, Kismat Lakhanpur,Anjna,Nagarnabi, Sitapahari, Nasipur and urban ward kurapara, kalitala, Baoripara, Madhpara and Gowalpara those were suffering hardships to arrange their two ends meal during lockdown. The ration packets brought extreme relief to the families. FACE team distributed the materials door to door and helped many families to fight the horrible pandemic situation.
These small contributions came as a big relief for such families and especially for the small children and old aged members who deserved care and protection. nd Again when the 2 wave of Covid-19 drastically destroyed the economic conditions of a large number of families. FACE again played the key role in facilitating social welfare activities. FACE team started identifying and collecting the data of helpless, needy families to distribute relief materials. The situation was so pathetic that whenever the team visited village for material distribution they were instantly surrounded by bunch of children demanding packets. The children and the pregnant women are the worst sufferer of the situation Gradually, they became victims of mal nutrition. Viewing that the campaign was focused on the girls and planned to protect the students of girl child learning centers from mal nutrition, viral diseases like malaria, dengue & chicken pox etc. Distributed materials to students of 59 girl child learning centers where total 1770 girls received the nutritional food packets, odomos cream whereas 59 female teachers and 241 girl students of age 15years were distributed sanitary pads for maintaining health and hygiene.
FACE has also distributed Thermal Gun, Oximeter to 59 girl children learning centers for precautionary measures of girls from viral diseases. FACE team also conducted awareness camps and encourage community for vaccination helped the villagers for mental support and shared all the precautionary actions to be taken to stay safe and healthy in pandemic situation.
